The 7th International Conference and Exhibition on Radiation Curing, popularly known as RadTech Asia '99, was successfully held at Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 24 - 26 August 1999. The Conference attracted the attendance of over 200 participant with over 80 papers presented during the three-day period. The participant were mainly from Japan and China followed by USA, UK, France, Austria, Germany, Australia, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Korea, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia and ASEAN Countries. Meanwhile, the RadTech Asia Expo '99 which was held in conjuction with the Conference attracted 14 exhibitors with 18 booths being taken up. The exhibition was held to give opportunities for the business community as well as the local public to view and discuss about the latest technology in radiation curing available at the market. In conjuction with the opening of the events, the Minister of Science, Technology and the Environment, Datuk Law Hieng Ding also launched RadTech Malaysia - a special interest group under the aegis of the MNS for the Malaysian radiation curing community. A logo of RadTech Malaysia was unveiled by the Minister before some 300 distinuished guests and participants. The Conference and Exhibition were jointly organized by MNS and the Malaysian Institute for Nuclear Technology Research (MINT).
