| MINT mementingkan kualiti dan inovasi
bagi memastikan kesinambungan dalam persaingan dan peluang dalam
penyelidikan serta perkhidmatan. Ini dapat dilihat dari pencapaian yang
diperolehi oleh MINT dalam aktiviti berkaitan kualiti dan inovasi. Selain
daripada memperolehi anugerah di peringkat tempatan, kejayaan MINT turut
tersohor di peringkat antarabangsa.
Pada tahun 2004, MINT memenangi 3 Anugerah Kualiti; setiap satunya di peringkat MOSTI, Negeri Selangor dan kebangsaan. Selain itu, MINT turut memenangi 18 Anugerah Inovasi dan Rekacipta; 2 di peringkat MOSTI, 7 di peringkat kebangsaan, 4 di peringkat MAMPU dan 5 di peringkat antarabangsa. Senarai keseluruhan anugerah kualiti dan inovasi yang diperolehi. |
MINT placed high
emphasis in quality and innovation to sustain competitive edge and advantage
in research and services. This is reflected by MINT’s accomplishments in
quality and innovation activities. Apart from awards received locally, MINT
has also succeeded at international level.
In 2004, MINT has won 3 Quality Awards; each at MOSTI, Selangor State and national level. Apart from that, MINT also won 18 Innovation and Invention Awards; 2 at MOSTI , 7 at national, 4 at MAMPU and 5 at international level. Below are the lists of quality and innovation

| MINT meletakkan harapan tinggi untuk
memasarkan inovasi tersebut kepada pengguna akhir melalui pihak industri
tempatan dan antarabangsa.
Selaras dengan dasar kualiti, MINT sentiasa menitikberatkan kualiti dalam pengurusan organisasi. Buktinya, MINT telah memperolehi akreditasi ISO/IEC 17025 dan menambah 3 lagi kepada 9 Persijilan ISO 9001:2000. Pada masa yang sama, sebanyak 14 makmal lagi sedang dalam proses memperolehi akreditasi ISO/IEC 17025. Berikut adalah jadual skop akreditasi dan persijilan ISO yang diperolehi. |

hopes to market these innovations to end users through local and
international industries.
In line with the quality policy, MINT emphasized the importance of quality in organizational management. Being true to the policy, MINT has acquired ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation and added 3 to a total of 9 ISO9001:2001 certifications. At the same time, 14 laboratories are in the process of achieving ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. The following table lists all the scope of ISO
accreditation and certification. |

PEMBANGUNAN SUMBER MANUSIA
Pembangunan sumber manusia telah dikenalpasti sebagai pemacu untuk Malaysia melonjak ke arah k-ekonomi. Ini adalah penting bagi negara memperolehi kelebihan dari segi pertumbuhan ekonomi dan kompetitif. Dengan penekanan di peringkat kebangsaan, MINT terus proaktif dalam usaha meningkatkan kemahiran tenaga kerjanya yang sehingga kini berjumlah 715 orang yang terdiri dari 307 penyelidik, 17 profesional dan 393 kumpulan sokongan. MINT juga mengendalikan pelbagai program latihan di samping penyertaan di dalam program latihan agensi-agensi luar seperti INTAN, IAEA serta Kementerian Pelajaran, Kebudayaan, Sains dan Teknologi Jepun (MEXT). Sebanyak 55 kursus dalaman untuk pelbagai bidang telah dianjurkan yang melibatkan seramai 2769 penyertaan. Manakala seramai 381 orang kakitangan telah menyertai kursus jangka pendek dalam negara dan 94 orang lagi mengikuti kursus jangka pendek di luar negara. MINT juga menggalakkan kakitangannya melanjutkan pelajaran di mana dua orang pegawai telah berjaya menamatkan pengajian di peringkat Ijazah Kedoktoran. Dalam memenuhi syarat perkhidmatan bagi jawatan-jawatan tertentu, MINT telah mengadakan satu peperiksaan subjek jabatan bagi kakitangan sokongan manakala 4 Peperiksaan Tahap Kecekapan (PTK) telah dijalankan untuk menilai kompetensi individu seperti yang disyaratkan di dalam Sistem Saraan Malaysia (SSM). Program latihan Fellowship dan lawatan saintifik telah menjadi salah satu saluran untuk kakitangan MINT memperolehi kemahiran dan pengalaman dalam mengejar kemajuan S&T. Seramai 9 pegawai telah menjalani program fellowship manakala 7 lagi telah mengikuti lawatan saintifik anjuran IAEA. MINT mendapat kepercayaan IAEA sebagai organisasi contoh serantau di mana 12 pelatih dari institusi luar negara menjalani program latihan fellowship dan lawatan saintifik di MINT.

HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT Human resource development (HRD) has been identified as one of the critical factor towards k-economy. This is crucial in sustaining Malaysia’s economic growth and competitive advantage. With the recent emphasis on HRD at the national level, MINT has been proactive in escalating skill and competency of her 715 staffs, which comprises 307 researchers, 15 professionals and 393 supporting staffs. MINT has carried out various training programmes as well as participated in programmes organized by other agencies such as INTAN, IAEA and Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology, Japan (MEXT). A total of 55 internal courses in various fields have been organized involving 2769 participation whilst 381 and 94 staff went for short-term courses locally and abroad respectively. Formal education is always encouraged amongst her staff with two researchers successfully completing their doctorate. In fulfilling service requirement for certain posts, MINT has conducted a ‘Peperiksaan Subjek Jabatan’ for her supporting staff, whilst 4 Competency Level Assessment (PTK) were carried out as required by Malaysia Remuneration Scheme IAEA fellowship and scientific visit programme have been effective for MINT’s staff to gain hands-on skill and experience at international level in order to cope with the advancements in S&T. A total of 9 researchers underwent fellowship training while 7 researchers went for scientific visit. MINT has been recognised as a model organisation in the region for providing training in various nuclear related fields. In 2004, 12 researchers from various international institutes were selected to participate in the training programme. |

Kepakaran MINT juga diiktiraf IAEA di mana 9 penyelidik MINT telah dihantar
untuk misi pakar IAEA ke Austria, Korea, Sudan dan Itali dalam bidang Ujian
Tanpa Musnah (NDT), pengurusan penyelidikan nuklear, teknologi industri dan
penyinaran polimer.
Malaysia juga telah dipilih oleh IAEA sebagai Pusat Latihan Serantau (RTC) dalam bidang perlindungan dan keselamatan sinaran dengan Kursus Lepasan Ijazah ketiga (PGEC). Kursus ini diadakan dengan kerjasama IAEA, MINT dan UKM dan telah mendapat sambutan yang baik dengan penambahan bilangan peserta. |
MINT’s expertise is recognised by the IAEA where 9
researchers were sent on expert missions to Austria, Korea, Sudan and
Italy in various fields including Non Destructive Testing (NDT), nuclear
research management, industrial technology and polymer irradiation.
Malaysia is entrusted by the IAEA as a Regional Training Centre in radiation protection and safety by organising the 3rd Post Graduate Education Course (PGEC). This course is jointly organised by IAEA, MINT and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). PGEC has gained credibility as evident by the increasing number of participants. |
